Horizon Services, Inc. (HSI) is seeking a Controller to partner with the CFO and lead a team of 7-8 finance professionals at a growing nonprofit dedicated to substance use and mental health treatment across California and New Mexico. With new facilities underway in San Mateo and Alameda counties, HSI is entering an exciting growth phase — and this role will help drive it.

 

What you'll do:

 

• Oversee all accounting functions and ensure GAAP/501(c)(3) compliance

• Manage a $30M+ budget, cash flow, and financial reporting

• Lead audits, risk management, and process improvement initiatives

• Mentor and develop a talented finance team

• Serve as a trusted advisor to agency leadership

 

What you bring:

 

• 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including 3+ years supervising staff

• Nonprofit budgeting/fiscal management expertise

• Bachelor's in Accounting (MBA/CPA a plus)

• A passion for mission-driven work

 

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 + competitive benefits
