About NPO

Origin Story

We created Nonprofit Operations (NPO) to transform how nonprofit finance, human resources, operations, and executive director job seekers find meaningful, sustainable, and values-aligned work. Born from our success creating and running recruiting programs and our weekly LinkedIn newsletter, NPO’s job portal is designed to empower job seekers to align their personal values with their professional ambitions.

As professionals with a combined 30+ years of experience in this field, we have a proven track record of creating robust recruitment programs that support best-in-class workplaces. Together, we have sourced 1,573 candidates from diverse backgrounds and skill sets to hire seven full time employees over 18 months. Based on this experience, we reimagined how recruitment could be more effective and transparent for job seekers and nonprofit organizations, and identified what kind of resource would make the process better for both.

NPO’s first offering is our first-of-its-kind job portal, where we aim to transform how nonprofit operations, human resources, and finance job seekers find meaningful and sustainable work—raising the bar for transparency, justice, and equity across the nonprofit sector.

Our Values

Diversity, Equity, Justice, and Inclusion

We center the experiences and needs of those from historically marginalized communities. We work to dismantle white supremacy, patriarchy, homophobia, transphobia, and ableism across the nonprofit sector, and build new standards to make diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion the norm.

Integrity and Accountability

We strive to operate with transparency, ethical standards, and accountability to the communities we serve.

Continuous Learning

We are committed to developing and disseminating skills and knowledge that advance justice and operational excellence in the nonprofit sector.

Innovation for Impact

We advance innovative approaches to solve complex nonprofit challenges in operations, human resources, and finance.

Creativity and Playfulness

Creativity and playfulness are essential to driving innovation in the nonprofit sector. By encouraging curiosity and joy, we challenge norms, spark new ideas, and create transformative, equitable change while fostering a sense of possibility and inclusion in our work.
