About Hispanics in Philanthropy Hispanics in Philanthropy (“HIP”) is a non-profit 501c3 organization that leverages philanthropic resources to mobilize and amplify the power of communities. Through their work, Hispanics in Philanthropy supports, challenges, and inspires the sector to ignite their essence and achieve necessary self-sustaining and long-lasting change.
To achieve this, HIP integrates three core strategies across its work:
Building: Mobilizing diverse donors and investors whobelieve in the power of collective action by providing spaces and opportunities for HIP tobe their philanthropic home. HIP is the go-to for donors to learn about the practice ofphilanthropy by and for Latine and communities of color.
Funding: Directing resources to meet the most pressing needs in Latine communities.HIP ensures funding reaches the organizations and leaders driving transformativechange.
Fueling: Supporting the philanthropic sector's infrastructure for sustained impact andgrowth by connecting donors and funders to frontline leaders and nonprofit organizationsthat are advancing long-term change in Latine communities across the Americas.
Together, these strategies form a comprehensive approach enabling Latine communities to thrive, lead, and shape a future of abundance and agency. HIP aims to transform philanthropy so that Latine voices are heard, empowered, and positioned to create systemic change.
HIP Solutions: Building Abundance for Latine Communities
Transforming Philanthropy and Amplifying Individual Giving: HIP drives transformation by educating donors, advocating for equitable funding, andconnecting funders to Latine-led solutions. We focus on two key strategies: 1) promotinggiving through education, community building, and donor organizing, and 2) addressingthe effects of historic underfunding in communities of color through research andamplifying just funding practices. By fostering a culture of collective action, HIPempowers donors to align their values with investments that drive meaningful change.
Investing in Community-Driven Solutions: Given HIP’s proximity to 800+ grantee partners past and present across the Americas, the organization is continuously informed by those who have the lived experience and solutions to design and implement lasting change. This collaborative cycle creates feedback loops that allow HIP to amplify impact and effectively partner with the philanthropic community. HIP’s support of community-led organizations takes many forms, including capacity building, infrastructure, and leadership development.
After several years of growth, HIP is working on refocusing and rightsizing its programs and operations. By the end of 2025, HIP will have around 30 employees, (including its U.S. and Mexico offices and fiscal projects). HIP’s combined annual budget for 2025 is approximately $12M and as of December 2024 had $18M in total assets, including approximately $10M in investments. Revenues include grants, donations, membership dues, event sponsorships and tickets, contracts, investment income, and fiscal sponsorship fees.

The Opportunity
HIP seeks a builder and proven financial leader for the Vice President of Finance (VP) to lead in all aspects of financial management, planning, analysis, and compliance for the organization. The VP is a strategic advisor and partner to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors in the mission to advance and maximize opportunities for Latine businesses, communities, and people to thrive in a globally competitive environment.
The VP of Finance is the organization’s senior financial leader who sits on the organization’s executive leadership team and oversees the organization’s Finance function in both the U.S. and Mexico. The VP leads and manages the finance team which currently includes three in-house staff members plus a part-time, outsourced controller. As a member of the executive leadership team and partner to the other senior leaders, this position weaves finances into all strategic decisions.
The VP serves as a highly influential advisor and thought partner. This position is hands on, spanning both strategic and managerial level functions. In late 2025, HIP is planning to make significant improvements to its accounting system- moving from QuickBooks Desktop and many manual processes to an Enterprise level cloud-based accounting system and exploring integration with key software used by HIP. The VP of Finance will be a key member of the process improvements, which will include support from external consultants.
Critical to the success of the VP are the following responsibilities:
Serves as a core member of the staff leadership body, providing financial leadership,strategy and analysis to guide decision making.
Provides oversight and responsibility for financial, accounting, and payroll systems,policies, and processes.
Staffs the Finance, Audit, and Investment Committees of the Board.
Prepares and presents monthly and quarterly financial reports and analysis.
Manages cash flow and investments and holds relationships with bank and investmentinstitutions.
Leads the annual budget development process and ongoing budget management andoversight.
Partners with the Development team to develop and track revenue goals andprojections, grant budgets and financial reports for funders.
Oversees the annual audit process and all tax filings (U.S. and Mexico).
Works with legal counsel to ensure compliance with U.S. and Mexico based rules andregulations for nonprofit and grantmaking organizations.
Oversees the fiscal sponsorship program.
Provides coaching and mentorship around financial literacy to HIP staff and board.

While this role is based in the U.S., the VP will have regular communication with employees in both the U.S. and Mexico offices and because HIP is a bilingual organization with a commitment to language justice, the VP must be fluent in Spanish and English.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is $150,000-175,000 with a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401K matching, discounts on services, and sick, vacation, and paid holiday time. This is a U.S.-based position.
